Legend has it that the wines of Huentala Wines' Gran Sombrero line are dedicated to the big hat of the company's founder, Julio Camsen, son and grandson of a long tradition of winegrowers in Mendoza. Matured for a good 14 months in French oak barrels, after bottling this wine rests for at least another year in the cellar before being put on sale. This long period of ageing is necessary to make the Malbec from the vineyards of the picturesque Gualtallary valley more harmonious. Hundreds of typical Spanish varieties are used to produce red wines, fortified wines but also fabulous sparkling wines. Like this Onaya De Don Cristo, a Cava, as the Iberian bubbles are called, made from Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada grapes.
